It took longer than I'd hoped, but Chris and Hilda's wedding slideshow finally came together. This one was new territory for me. I'd built slideshow videos before, and even added light motion to a few, but I'd never edited one entirely by hand rather than relying on software that stitches things together automatically, and the video clips I'd worked into past projects had always been short and fairly rough.

I went into Chris & Hilda's wedding with big ideas and not much practical experience to back them up, and about half of what I tried fell apart in the moment. I'm a still photographer learning video production the hard way, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I've learned not to promise something I'm not sure I can deliver, which is why I never mentioned video or audio to Chris or Hilda until I actually showed up and mic'd Chris for the ceremony. That mic picked up the officiant beautifully. It also picked up the wind, and not much else.
