Day-of Expectations
What happens if it rains?
We shoot rain or shine. Some of the best, most memorable wedding photos I've taken happened because the weather didn't cooperate. I'll always have a backup plan for your locations in mind, and we'll talk it through ahead of time so nothing catches us off guard.
Do you work with a second photographer?
No, I work alone, on purpose. One consistent photographer means one consistent eye on your day from start to finish, and no coordinating two people's angles or editing styles into one gallery. It also means the person capturing your wedding is the same person you've built a relationship with during planning, not a stranger who shows up on the day. We'll map out your timeline together in advance so I'm in the right place for the moments that matter most to you.
How many photos will I actually get?
It varies by day and coverage length, but most 8-hour weddings land in the 400-600 fully edited image range. I'd rather hand you a gallery full of images that matter than pad the count with near-duplicates.
How should we plan our timeline?
We'll build it together before your wedding, not on the fly. I'll walk through your day with you so we know where the light's best, where the key moments are happening, and where a small adjustment in timing means I'm not stuck choosing between two things happening at once.
Booking & Logistics
How does booking work, and what's the payment schedule?
A 30% deposit and signed contract hold your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding or session. I only take one wedding per day, so once your deposit is in, that day is entirely yours. I'm currently booking 2026 and 2027.
Do you travel outside the Hudson Valley?
Yes. Rhinebeck, Beacon, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Cold Spring, and New Paltz are all home turf for me, no travel fee. Outside that radius, we'll figure out a fair mileage or travel rate together before you book.
How long until I get my photos?
You'll have a sneak peek within 3 days of your wedding, and your full gallery within 4 weeks. Portrait sessions turn around in 2 weeks. If you need something faster for a save-the-date or a magazine deadline, rush delivery is available.
What's included in my package, and can I add to it?
Every wedding and elopement package includes full high-resolution files with print rights, no restrictions on where you print. You can add extra hours, a heirloom album, parent albums, or rush delivery any time before or after your day.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens, and dates change. Reach out as soon as you know, and we'll work together on rescheduling within the same season when possible. Your deposit secures your original date, so specifics depend on timing, best to talk it through directly rather than guess from a policy page.
Style & Trust
How would you describe your photography style?
Documentary and natural light, first. I'm there to capture what's actually happening, the real laugh, the unplanned moment, rather than stage a version of your day. Hudson Valley light and landscape show up in my work because I shoot here, and I know it well.
Can I see full weddings, not just highlight galleries?
Absolutely, just ask and I'll share a couple of full galleries from recent weddings similar in size or setting to yours. Portfolio highlights are curated by nature; a full gallery shows you what an entire day with me actually looks like.
How do prints and albums work?
Your gallery comes with full print rights, so you can order anywhere. If you'd rather have something designed and printed for you, a heirloom album is available starting at $650, with matching parent albums at $150 each, put together from the images that matter most to you after your wedding.
