Linda reached out a full year ahead of her wedding to Andrew, which told me everything I needed to know: she's a planner, and thank goodness, because so am I. As their date approached, she checked in to make sure everything was set — the same week I'd planned to reach out and do exactly that. When I met her on the wedding day, her first words to me were, "Hello! Do you know what time it is?" Her bridal suite had no clock, which for a planner is basically a crisis. It turned out to be the only hiccup of the day. The rest of it, held at Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls, NY, was exactly as coordinated as you'd expect — food and drinks shared freely, and a room full of people who clearly adored Linda and Andrew, their kids very much included.
