Richard, one of my past wedding clients, sent Tony and Helen my way for their City Hall wedding, and they turned out to be the kind of easygoing clients who say yes to everything. Rather than let the rest of the day go to waste after the ceremony, we turned it into an impromptu tour: portraits on the Oculus staircase amid a steady stream of strangers' congratulations, a ride to Brooklyn on the A train (with a much-needed sit-down), a coffee pit stop, and a spin on the East River Ferry for skyline views and a few more frames. Right as our afternoon wrapped, a storm rolled in over Manhattan just in time to watch them duck into a cab, newlyweds and perfectly timed, as usual.
